Abelian Full Node Upgrade Announcement (abec v2.0.1)

The core of the post-quantum privacy-preserving Abelian blockchain network is the nodes, namely, abec. From time to time, the Abelian team publishes new updates of abec for making it more secure, more powerful, and more versatile.

For facilitating the forthcoming quartering event at the block height #400,000, abec and the associated CLI (Command-Line-Interface) wallet, abewallet, are updated and published together with their source code on GitHub.

What’s New in abec v2.0.1?

• Quartering Mechanism Activation: 

After the completion of the first era at the block heigh #400,000, halving will occur. Unique to this particular event, quartering mechanism will kick in and the block reward will be significantly reduced from 256 ABELs down to 64 ABELs. Note that after the 2nd era is over, conventional halving will resume, namely, the block reward will further be reduced from 64 ABELs to 32 ABELs after the 2nd era is completed.

• Longer Mining Period and Extended Era Duration:

The total ABEL supply released via mining will span 61.66 years.
