Security Breach Alert: Abelian’s Telegram Compromised — Urgent Community Update

We regret to inform the community about a recent security breach involving the Telegram account of Leeny_0x, the owner of the Abelian Telegram group chat.

Incident Details

• Date and Time: Saturday, June 1st around 5 pm local time.
• Compromised Account: Leeny_0x’s personal Telegram account.
• Link: The compromised account was linked to Abelian’s main official Telegram channel.
• Method: The hacker(s) exploited a vulnerability in a supposed “verification bot” that Leeny_0x received from a common connection on Telegram. This bot claimed to verify account authenticity but was actually a sophisticated phishing attack.

Actions Taken by Hackers

• Date and Time of Full Control: Around midnight on Monday, June 3rd.
• Malicious Activity: Spread malicious links and content within our main Telegram channel and other connections of Leeny_0x.
• Admin Access: Kicked out all admins from the team.
• 2FA Issue: Unable to recover 2FA as the mobile second phone number linked to Leeny’s Telegram account was disabled and replaced by the hacker.

Current Status

• Control of Telegram Presence: We are still working to regain full control of Abelian’s official Telegram presence. Currently, we have no way to retrieve the compromised official Telegram account.

Please be vigilant against any suspicious Telegram messages or links claiming to be from Abelian representatives. We are currently rebuilding our Telegram community with a new channel and would greatly appreciate it if you could join and invite friends and connections to support the newly established Telegram channels.

Typically, you report to the domain registrar or web host, you can find the web host of the phishing website at free platforms like https://www.whois.com.
